Job Description: Youth and Family Program Director
Position Summary:
The Youth and Family Program Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Youth and Family Program within the Family Services department. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, extensive knowledge of social work and human services, and a passion for supporting and empowering youth and families. The Program Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of various programs and services aimed at promoting the well-being and healthy development of youth and families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for the Youth and Family Program in alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
2. Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of program coordinators, social workers, and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of services.
3. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, including program scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
4. Collaborate with community stakeholders, government agencies, and other organizations to establish partnerships and enhance program effectiveness.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with key funders, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and reporting standards.
6. Conduct ongoing program evaluations to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
7. Stay updated on best practices and trends in youth and family services, and integrate innovative approaches into the program.
8. Ensure program activities adhere to legal and ethical standards, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for participants.
9. Provide direct support to program participants and their families, including crisis intervention, counseling, and referral services.
10. Prepare and present program reports, proposals, and other documentation as required by internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a social work or human services organization, preferably in family services or youth programs.
3. Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and family systems theory.
4. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with program participants, staff, and external partners.
6. Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
7. Ability to effectively manage budgets and resources to maximize program outcomes.
8. Experience in building and maintaining partnerships with community stakeholders and funders.
9. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex situations and make sound judgments.
10. Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and ethical standards related to social work and human services.
